When constructing our two company buildings in Kempten, we carefully adhered to the applicable guidelines of the Office for the Environment and Nature Conservation and the Energy Saving Act. We deliberately decided not to install air conditioning.

To support biodiversity, we have planted wildflower strips in several places around our buildings. These provide a source of food for bees and other insects.

We have automated our building heating: The meeting rooms are only heated while they are occupied. The offices are kept at a lower temperature at weekends.

Despite a significant increase in the workforce, we managed to reduce gas consumption in 2022 by almost 20 % compared to the pre-coronavirus year 2019. (Most employees were in the mobile office in 2020 and 2021).

By installing a heat pump in 2025, we will be able to dispense with gas almost completely. Only the peak load will be covered by gas in the future.

We currently have three photovoltaic systems installed with a total output of over 60 kWp. We use the electricity we generate ourselves directly for our business operations and feed any surplus into the grid.

In 2025, we will almost double the output of our PV systems. By mounting the modules vertically facing south, we expect to generate substantial power in winter too.

We have installed numerous charging points for our employees' electric cars, plus six outdoor sockets. There are also plenty of charging points for e-bikes and scooters.

We have already converted 80% of our company fleet to electric vehicles. Over the next few years, we will increase the proportion of electric vehicles to 90%.

In the interests of more sustainable business practices, we lease our company vehicles for 48 months instead of the previous 36 months.

To promote climate-neutral mobility, we offer our employees the opportunity to lease bicycles at a favorable price.

In some cases, it makes sense to visit customers in person or travel to trade fairs. However, online meetings are often a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative. We have therefore significantly reduced the number of business trips compared to before the pandemic. This has saved us many thousands of kilometers by car and plane.

Our workstations are equipped with energy-saving devices. By replacing older "power guzzlers", we have been able to keep power consumption constant despite the growing number of employees. We use technologically up-to-date - and energy-saving - notebooks for 4 years instead of 2, and desktop computers for 4.5 years.

We have increased the renewal cycle of our company cell phones from 2 to 3 years.
