CODESYS Control - the PLC runtime system
In order to be able to program or configure an intelligent device with CODESYS in accordance with IEC 61131-3, the appropriate software must be installed or deployed on it:
the CODESYS Control runtime system. This software turns your device into a controller for different usage scenarios. It also provides important additional functions. For example, it enables your control system to communicate with other components in the application environment.
Millions of applications have already been automated with the CODESYS Control runtime system - in tens of thousands of different machines, systems, and projects. So you can be sure that it is also the right choice for your automation project!

Ready for immediate use
You can select suitable controllers for your application from more than 1,000 different device types from over 500 manufacturers. You can program these devices directly with the CODESYS Development System or with manufacturer-specific derivatives. In addition, ready-to-use CODESYS Control SoftPLC systems are available for the most important standard platforms in the CODESYS Store. Such platforms are, for example, industrial PCs with MS Windows or industrial devices with Arm® CPU and Linux® operating system. A list of the available SoftPLC systems can be found under CODESYS Control SL. Installation is completed with just a few clicks - depending on the platform, with simple installation services of the operating system or directly in the CODESYS Development System.
With the CODESYS Virtual Control SL virtual controller, you can abstract your hardware even further: Create controllers by setting up prepared images in containers on the target hardware - in almost any number and functionality, depending on the target device! Use CODESYS-compatible controllers from device manufacturers that have implemented the runtime system. CODESYS Inside helps you to find suitable suppliers.
